E-206 Rectora Message
The theme for the E206 weekend is Rooted. It comes straight from Colossians 2:7, which says:
“Have your roots planted deep in Christ. Grow in Him. Get your strength from Him. Let Him make you strong in the faith as you have been taught. Your life should be full of thanks to Him.” — Colossians 2:7 (NLV)
This verse captures the heart of what it means to be men who are grounded, steady, and anchored in something deeper than circumstances. It’s a call to sink our roots into Christ — not just to believe in Him, but to draw strength, stability, courage, and peace from Him.
And the weekend song, Firm Foundation by Cody Carnes, fits perfectly into this theme. There are lines that express the deepest parts of my relationship with Christ that I hope will resonate with the team members and pilgrims of E206. The song captures the truth of what it means to be rooted in Christ:
- Christ is our firm foundation
- He is the rock we stand on when everything around us is shaking
- We put our faith in Jesus because He has never let us down
- We can still have joy in chaos
- We can have peace that makes no sense
- We don’t stand by our own strength
- We are safe with Him
- And with Him, we’re going to make it through
As you pray for us this weekend, ask God to let every team member and pilgrim experience a faith that is truly rooted with roots planted deeper in Christ than ever before — not a faith hidden underground, but one that grows upward and outward, becomes visible, strengthens us and strengthens others, and produces gratitude, courage, and peace with lives that show the world the strength of the foundation we stand on.
